Shortly after my father passed away in 2002, I began studying yoga
and found it to be so profoundly healing that I have not stopped practicing since. I completed the Om Yoga Center teacher training with Jennifer Brilliant in July 2005, and I am certified by the Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level. Run by renowned teacher Cyndi Lee, Om Yoga Center
is consistently rated among New York City’s best yoga studios. I have taught yoga to brand new beginners, advanced practicioners,
and a wide variety of special groups.

I have a strong personal practice in the Vinyasa style of yoga, and my teaching emphasizes precise alignment, anatomical awareness, creative transitions, and the joy of being fully present in the body. Vinyasa, which means “breath movement system” in Sanskrit, is an active flow style of yoga in which physical movement and breath are coordinated. In Vinyasa yoga the breath is the primary vehicle through which we move the body.

In addition to a consistent practice at Om Yoga Center, I have also studied Iyengar yoga with Hugh Millard (a senior teacher at the Iyengar Institute), Jivamukti yoga, and Anusara yoga. I have been privileged to attend workshops with Anna Forrest and Sarahjoy Marsh.
